Israel stands ready to bomb Iran's nuclear sites

The Israeli military is preparing itself to launch a massive aerial assault on Iran's nuclear facilities within days of being given the go-ahead by its new government.
“Israel wants to know that if its forces were given the green light they could strike at Iran in a matter of days, even hours. They are making preparations on every level for this eventuality. The message to Iran is that the threat is not just words,” one senior defence official told The Times.
Times online article.

I'm tired of hearing about this , every week there is an imminent strike from the Jews, they continue the saber rattling.
Let them do it, and let's see if Iran wipes them off the map.

Do it Israel! Destroy them for their verbal threats and nuclear power ambitions. Do it! Show the world your power! Destroy Iran! Do it!
They want to kill us all. I hope that answers any lingering questions you might have.

If they're going to do, it will have to be soon.

Tehran says S-300 missile deal with Russia on track

A Russian arms export official said last month Iran had not yet received any S-300 air defense systems.

The latest version of the S-300 family is the S-300PMU2 Favorit, which has a range of up to 195 kilometers (about 120 miles) and can intercept aircraft and ballistic missiles at altitudes from 10 meters to 27 kilometers.

It is considered one of the world's most effective all-altitude regional air defense systems, comparable in performance to the U.S. MIM-104 Patriot system.

Iran recently took delivery of 29 Russian-made Tor-M1 air defense missile systems under a $700-million contract signed in late 2005. Russia has also trained Iranian Tor-M1 specialists, including radar operators and crew commanders. The S-300 system is significantly superior to the Tor-M1.

South American leaders decree new currency

The Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas, or ALBA for its Spanish acronym, was created five years ago between Cuba and Venezuela as an option to the US-backed Free Trade Area of the Americas. Since its founding, three more nations have joined, and ALBA has implemented numerous social programs and cooperation agreements, including the recently-founded ALBA bank. On Thursday, in advance of the Summit of the Americas, Latin America's most progressive governments met in Venezuela at the seventh ALBA summit. There, they prepared their positions for the Trinidad summit, and signed the decree for a new South American currency.

NSA involved in heavy domestic spying

The National Security Agency spied on the communications of people living in the U.S. at a level far exceeding the broad guidelines set by Congress. Several intelligence officials told the New York Times that the agency was significantly over-collecting emails and phone calls, even in recent months. The Justice Department says it only sought renewal of the surveillance program after new safeguards were put in place. The activities are under review.

you need a program renewal. we were protecting everything, and we broke in. its not safe anymore.

Failed appeal means border wall construction OKed on Texas woman's property

A Texas court has approved a US-Mexico border wall construction on a South Texas woman's property.

A federal judge ruled late yesterday in favor of the Department of Homeland Security in its suit against Dr. Eloisa Tamez. Tamez is an indigenous landowner, a member of the Lipan Apache tribe, and her family has owned the land for centuries. Judge Andrew Hansen ruled in March that DHS must negotiate with landowners before property can be seized, but the court's decision held that sufficient negotiations had taken place, and Tamez was ordered to allow DHS to start construction on her land. Dr. Tamez told FSRN that she is disappointed with the ruling but will continue speaking out. She said she has seen nothing to indicate Obama will change the border wall policy - especially since wall construction is providing jobs in the area. Tamez believes she can still appeal the ruling, but says Homeland Security contractors have already been trespassing on areas of her land.

Local sources said 30-year-old Bassem Ibrahim Abu Rahmah died when soldiers shot him in the chest with a tear gas bomb. Abdullah Abu Rahmah, from the,0,7656666.story,0,7656666.story

The Environmental Protection Agency made a historic announcement today. They declared green house gasses - like carbon dioxide and methane - contribute to air pollution and may be a threat to public health. The announcement today is the culmination of a review ordered by the US Supreme Court in 2007. The review also states that climate change can impact human health in significant ways and would affect poor, elderly and other vulnerable populations disproportionately. The EPA statement clears the way for governmental regulation of greenhouse gasses.

Israeli troops kill protester in West Bank

Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian man and injured dozens more today during a non-violent protest. The protest has been happening on a weekly basis for four years in Bil'in village - near the central west Bank city of Ramallah. It often attracts Palestinian, Israeli and other international activists.

Local sources said 30-year-old Bassem Ibrahim Abu Rahmah died when soldiers shot him in the chest with a tear gas bomb. Abdullah Abu Rahmah, from the local committee against the Wall and Settlements, witnessed the soldiers' attack:
"As is the case each week, we did our protest. Bassem was in the front line. We arrived at the wall and as soon as we tried to cross to our lands, the soldiers showered us with tear gas and rubber-coated-steel bullets. Bassem was shouting at the soldiers that it was a peaceful protest and that there were children present. Before he could finish, soldiers shot him in the chest with a heavy gas bomb, which caused him to bleed to death."

Protesters in Bil'in village held banners condemning Israel's ongoing policies and violence against civilians. They also demand the release of Palestinian political prisoners held by the Israeli army. In addition to the fatal shooting, Israeli fire hit an international supporter in the head. The activist sustained moderate wounds, and dozens more were treated for gas inhalation.

Jury gives $300,000 to former UTC officer who was racially abused at work

A Hamilton County jury has awarded $300,000 to a white former UTC police officer who claims he was fired after complaining about reverse racism and a culture of protecting black employees that exists in the school's police department.

Mr. Shelton's former supervisor, Cpl. Rebecca Tolbert, who is black, admitted on the witness stand that "black people don't like white people."

"It's like I told you, Sean. You're not a protected class of citizen," Paul Dodds, the former UTC head sergeant, told Mr. Shelton during a recorded conversation played for the jury. "Wake up, face it. They can call us whatever they want, OK? We're not protected, they are."

POLICE broke up a march yesterday by British people wanting to “reclaim” their streets from Muslim fanatics.

Officers said it was illegal to stage the protest in Luton where extremists were allowed only last month to shout abuse at troops home from Iraq.

Riot police with horses and dogs sealed off the town centre before scuffles broke out and several of the 200 demonstrators were arrested.

Geithner: Govt May Remove More CEO's "Of Course"

Timmy "Eddie Haskell" Geithner isn't backing down on the idea that central planning will save our economy. Never mind that centrally planned economies don't work and never have worked anywhere before... this shyster and his malevolently Marxist boss Obama have decided that they know better than the shareholders and the boards that run these institutions.

The government has their hooks in these companies and they won't ever disgorge ownership and lose the power to play politics with the largest companies in our economy. Apparently it never occurs to the Katie Courics of the world that this band of marauders will just continue to create crises (like the made-up scandal of the AIG bonuses). They will use the crises to continue to expand their political power, with little or no regard given to the displaced and hurt workers, executives, and shareholders of these unfortunate institutions.

Wake up, people. Geithner, Obama, Fancy Barney Frank, Reid, Pelosi, et al, have zero incentive and zero desire to see these companies do anything but struggle along, dependent upon the next government handout.

Who would have thought that 60 days into Obama's reign of terror, he would have the power to essentially decide who works and who starves in our "free" market. In the long run, markets dislike uncertainty. What could possibly be more uncertain than having (most) every CEO subject to dismissal by a bunch of bureaucrats?
