Duolingo: Course Status

Duolingo: Course Status

Status update, 9 September 2017

Our alpha testers have been busy already and have identified some mistakes and possible improvements.

We've found a problem related to the fact that Klingon uses the apostrophe as a letter; staff are looking into it. (It doesn't make the course impossible, but harder than it has to be.) We've also found a display issue related to Klingon's use of capitalisation. (This one makes the course a little easier than it should be :D)

We're probably not going to move into beta by the current estimated date (15 September). It's hard to provide a new estimate as it also depends a bit on the apostrophe issue - we'd prefer that to be fixed before the course goes into beta.

Some good news is that the alpha testers have not resigned en masse and quit because of the quality of the course :) There have been a handful of missing alternative translations and a couple of real bloopers where we had made a mistake in translation, and of course the grammar takes some getting used to, but I think things seem fairly doable so far.

We'll try to keep you updated as things progress but may not (be able to) say much about dates.

Qapla'!
