HEAVEN SHALL BURN LYRICS - "Invictus" (2010) album

2. The Omen

The time has come for you

Why don't you see the omen

Open your eyes and cast their lies aside

Your craven kings are headed nowhere

Your blinded leaders, they're headed nowhere

You're headed nowhere

I know they tell you to believe their truth

But I will never stand this pain

I know they say not to worry anymore

But I just cannot look away,

The truth is plain

Closing your eyes is nothing but surrender

How can you ask me

If we can save this world

For them died so many years ago

Get on your knees and greet the omen

How often did they prove your ignorance to you

How many times did they betray

They truth is plain, this truth is plain

Selling the hard-won values we achieved

You know that nothing will ever break the beast

You know there are millions left for dead

But no one broadcasts their cries

And now you dare to ask me,

If we can save this world

For them died so many years ago

Get on your knees and greet the omen

Closing your eyes is nothing but surrender,

A rotten act of treason

Please never ask me,

If we can save this world

For them died so many years ago

Get on your knees and greet the omen

Germany Coerced into Adopting Its First Minimum Wage

Germany Coerced into Adopting Its First Minimum Wage

Germany was called the “sick man of Europe” in 2003. Approximately 4 million or 11.6% of its 34.5 million workforce was unemployed and on public assistance. Rather than join the chorus of defeat, Prime Minister Gerhard Schroeder of the German Social Democratic Party (SPD) unveiled a package of reforms that he called Agenda 2010.
The key elements of the reform package included the following: 1) expansion of flexible forms of employment such as temporary work, fixed-term contracts, and small-scale employment, referred to as “mini jobs;” 2) restrictions on welfare benefits for the unemployed; 3) providing incentives for the unemployed to accept part-time jobs; and 4) encouraging higher labor force participation for women and older persons.

Germany Coerced into Adopting Its First Minimum Wage

German lawmakers on July 3rd approved the introduction of the country's first national minimum wage of $11.75 per hour. For the last decade, Germany’s greater “labor flexibility” allowed its economy to flourish, while most of the other European Union members’ economies stagnated. Rather than embracing the policies that helped Germany succeed, other EU members have forced Germany to conform to the failed labor policies of many of its EU neighbors.

Many misconceptions about American independence - chicagotribune.com

Many misconceptions about American independence - chicagotribune.com

"The time is now at hand which must probably determine, whether Americans are to be, freeman, or slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their houses and farms are to be pillaged and destroyed, and they consigned to a state of wretchedness from which no human efforts will probably deliver them. The fate of the unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the conduct of this army. ... Let us, therefore, animate and encourage each other, and show the whole world, that a freeman contending for liberty on his own ground is superior to any slavish mercenary on Earth."

At Last: A Congressman Looking to Disarm All Those Federal Agencies | Right Wing News

At Last: A Congressman Looking to Disarm All Those Federal Agencies | Right Wing News

Did you know that the Food & Drug Administration has machine guns and a SWAT team? Did you know even the Department of Education has that, too? We already know that the Bureau of Land Management does. So do the IRS, the USDA, and practically every other piddling, unnecessary federal department.
Why do all these agencies have their own private armies replete with tanks, automatic weapons, and assault teams? Well, you can thank the Bush administration’s push of a provision for arming Offices of Inspector Generals of federal agencies that was stuffed into the 2002 Homeland Security Act.
Well, finally a Congressman is speaking out against this useless, oppressive, and downright dangerous outrage and looking to de-militarize all these federal agencies by introducing a bill to repeal the 2002 provision.
Congressman Chris Stewart (R, UT) has introduced the Regulatory Agency De-militarization Act to take away the power these agencies have to form their own mini armies.
“I understand that federal agents must be capable of protecting themselves,”Stewart said last week. “But what we have observed goes far beyond providing necessary protection.”
Stewart struck just the right tone with his further explanation.
“When there are genuinely dangerous situations involving federal law, that’s the job of the Department of Justice, not regulatory agencies like the FDA or the Department of Education. Not only is it overkill, but having these highly-armed units within dozens of agencies is duplicative, costly, heavy handed, dangerous and destroys any sense of trust between citizens and the federal government.”

“The militarization of agencies is only a symptom of a much deeper and more troubling problem within Washington–that the federal government no longer trusts the American people.”

“I’m working to restore and rebuild trust–beginning with this effort to defund paramilitary capabilities within federal regulatory agencies.”
Exactly right, Mr. Stewart.
Kudos for you seeing the truth, here.
I’ll tell you this much, I’ll agree that every last damn placeholder and federal government leech can walk around armed with fully automatic machine guns when I have that right, too. Until then, only the properly designated policing agencies should be armed like this.
But this should be only the beginning. We also need legislation to outlaw the use of tanks and military equipments by local police, too.
Your local Barney Fife does not need a tank.

President Obama Doesn't Understand Representative Government

President Obama Doesn't Understand Representative Government

Once again, President Obama has announced that he’s going to bypass Congress in order to impose his own agenda through executive orders, this time on immigration.
Does this guy even understand how representative government works?
Here’s how it works: the representatives govern. In other words, Congress makes the laws. But Obama seems to think that when push comes to shove, the president is the only representative the people need. Thus, he declared that “America cannot wait” for Congress, as if he speaks for America, rather than the people actually elected by the people to represent them in something called—you guessed it—the House of Representatives.
Oh, but he says he was forced into it. “I don’t prefer taking administrative action. I’ve made that clear multiple times…. I only take executive action when we have a serious problem, a serious issue, and Congress chooses to do nothing.” No, when Congress chooses to do nothing, the president’s job is also to do nothing. It’s not a matter of his preference, because he has no law authorizing him to act.

Obama will also ignore Congress on immigration reform by focusing on and expanding upon his Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) memorandum, Federation for American Immigration Reform spokesman Ira Mehlman told Fox News. DACA allows young illegal immigrants to stay in the U.S. if they were brought into the country illegally by their parents and were not convicted of a major crime.

Eyewitnesses in the Cossack settlement of Luganskaya have accused government forces of carrying out two airstrikes on densely-populated residential areas. Kiev says the devastation is the result of shelling by secessionist forces.
“The first plane appeared at 11 am, and hit the center of the town – destroying the police building, damaging the courthouse, and razing two houses. We won’t know the death toll until the rubble is cleared,” said Vladimir Bilous, the head of the local administration.

He added that the handling of the influx of illegal immigrants is being directed by officials at the Department of Homeland Security, and stated that decisions regarding the response to the crisis are “no longer at local, our local leadership here, they don’t have a say,” adding “we’re getting direction from DHS.”
Pacheco also reported that Border Patrol agents face retaliation if they talk to the media about the problems at the border.  He said “I risk my career” by speaking out, and said that he has previously been written up for communicating with the press.

Food Prices Skyrocketing Since 2011 While Wages Stagnant

The report noted that staples such as chicken, ground beef, and bacon have skyrocketed in price since 2011: the price of chicken is 18.4% more than it was; ground beef is up 16.8%; and bacon saw a huge increase of 22.8% in price. These price hikes came despite the federal government’s sunny assertion that prices in general have only increased 6.4% in that period.
Meanwhile, median income has only risen 1% each year, while the cost of college tuition has climbed 6% to 8% every year for at least forty years.
ConvergEx market strategist Nick Colas commented, "Food inflation is far greater than the government thinks it is. The disconnect is severe, because it's the economists that make policy but it's the people who have to live with the outcome of that policy and that disconnect is growing to the point where I think it has to break soon.”

Cuba: Just 50 cars sold in 6 months under new law | Fox News

A new Peugeot family car that listed for $262,000 in Havana would cost $53,000 in the United Kingdom, for example, while a compact Kia Rio hatchback that starts at $13,600 in the United States was on offer for $42,000 in Cuba.
The licensed dealerships also sell used cars for significantly less, often former rentals with high odometer readings. These would appear to account for most or nearly all the sales reported by Cubadebate.
But even cheaply made Chinese sedans decommissioned from government fleets list as used cars for well above what they command elsewhere brand-new.
The prices were the subject of bitter and open complaint by many Cubans, most of whom earn about $20 a month working for the government.

Dependence Day | Capitalism MagazineCapitalism Magazine

Dependence Day | Capitalism MagazineCapitalism Magazine

Independence Day is our most endangered holiday. We should celebrate it while we still can. The entire concept of independence — of autonomous citizens making their own choices in the pursuit of their own happiness — is under attack. The American war for independence was not over in the 18th Century but wages on today. At the moment, independence is not winning.
To make sure that we are not deluding ourselves, we should at least consider changing the name of the July 4th holiday to “Dependence Day.” We might also move to a more appropriate date to avoid blasphemy. One possibility is October 3, the day in 2008 that President George W. Bush signed legislation authorizing TARP spending of $700 billion.
But that provided President Obama with an excuse for even worse legislation, when, on March 23, 2010, he signed ObamaCare into law. This heavy-handed micro-management of medicine is the leading wave in the government’s destruction of personal choice.
Individuals are no longer allowed to decide which treatments or procedures they want their insurance to cover. They are not allowed to decide where and how to buy their insurance.
Physicians are not allowed to decide which treatment or surgery will best serve their patients. They must follow government protocols and “best practices” for everyone, regardless of the unique condition of each patient.
Individual patients and physicians may not determine the cost of care. The government will decide that, and, accordingly, which treatments are denied.
Physicians and patients may not decide which available medications will provide the most relief but must depend on what the Food and Drug Administration permits based on factors other than safety. Terminally ill patients must depend on the FDA to decide what is “effective” for everyone, while individuals die waiting for access.
Individuals may not prevent their electronic medical records from being turned over to government agencies without their permission. They also may not prevent the government from turning their records over to private firms.
In essence, health care choices and outcomes will depend largely on what politicians decide or delegate to mindless, distant and indifferent government agencies.
The passionate, bi-partisan desire of large elements of the political class is dependence on them for every essential aspect of daily life. They lose sleep at the thought of Americans finding and buying their health insurance in a way to best meet their own needs, at a cost they can afford. They are horrified at the thought of Americans saving their own money — without it being taxed — in a Health Savings Account, and making their own decisions on medical services, in an effort to manage their money wisely.
That is because the last thing politicians want is affordable, quality health care. They singularly want everyone beholden to them, and health care serves as a means to that end.
More is at stake than health care. Politicians want Americans to depend on government for their children’s education — so the government can dictate that education’s content. Then education serves political or union agendas. The problem that Johnny can’t read is a concern only to the extent that Johnny can’t absorb ideology forced on him by government schools.
Individuals must depend on politicians for the terms of their home ownership. Banks must depend on the government to tell them who is eligible for a mortgage — regardless of their ability to pay it off. The government tells us which available sources of energy are forbidden, and how we must be dependent on government for sources that do not yet exist.
Do we want Congress to make our medical choices and other important decisions? On this Fourth of July, Americans should decide whether they want their independence to endure, or to continue to slip away, along with the meaning and spirit of the holiday.

Hong Kong democracy rally results in 511 arrests | Fox News

Hong Kong police have arrested more than 500 people holding a sit-in a day after tens of thousands in the former British colony joined a massive march to push for democracy.
Anger at mainland China has never been greater after Beijing warned recently it holds the ultimate authority over the freewheeling capitalist enclave.
That's despite a mini-constitution that gives the city a high degree of autonomy until 2047.
Police said 511 people were arrested Wednesday for unlawful assembly and preventing police from carrying out their duties. They were holding an overnight sit-in after the rally.
Police said 98,600 people joined Tuesday's rally at its peak, while organizers said 510,000 turned out, the highest estimates in a decade.

Medical staff warned: Keep your mouths shut about illegal immigrants or face arrest | Fox News

“There were several of us who wanted to talk about the camps, but the agents made it clear we would be arrested,” a psychiatric counselor told me. “We were under orders not to say anything.”
The sources said workers were guarded by a security force from the Baptist Family & Children’s Services, which the Department of Health and Human Services hired to run the Lackland Camp.
The sources say security forces called themselves the “Brown Shirts.”
“It was a very submissive atmosphere,” the counselor said. “Once you stepped onto the grounds, you abided by their laws – the Brown Shirt laws.”
She said the workers were stripped of their cellphones and other communication devices. Anyone caught with a phone was immediately fired.
“Everyone was paranoid,” she said. “The children had more rights than the workers.”

Tragedy in Israel | National Review Online

Tragedy in Israel | National Review Online

The Obama administration responded with its condolences to the families and to the state of Israel, as well it should have. But it also called, as it always does in situations like this, for restraint on the part of Israel.
How many times must Israel hear this call? Children are murdered — please show restraint. Cafés and buses are bombed — please show restraint. Towns are victimized by hundreds of rockets — please show restraint while you bury your dead once again.
I think it is clear by now: Israel has shown remarkable restraint. It possesses a military with clear superiority over that of its Palestinian neighbors, yet it does not respond to threat after threat, provocation after provocation, with the type of force that would decisively end their conflict.
But sometimes restraint can work against you. Sometimes you just have to say, enough is enough.

WITH YOUR SECOND CUP OF COFFEE…Huge protests have erupted in Hong Kong as Chinese officials continue to tighten their grip on the former British colony. The protesters, numbering more than a half-million, want guarantees from the regime in Beijing that the promised freedoms that were part of the July 1, 1997 handover to the communist country will be honored. Beijing, on the other hand, is losing patience with its semi-autonomous subjects who, having known liberty, are unwilling to so readily submit. Amid the protests and on the anniversary of the British handover, a look back at The Independent’s account of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s visit to Beijing to try to keep Hong Kong free: “She did not, according to one civil servant, find China very attractive: 'She was a great exception to the general rule among political and business leaders, that having reached [Beijing] and had their tummies tickled, they are captivated by the place, seeing themselves as latter-day Marco Polo figures. When she went as Leader of the Opposition, she found it a rather unpleasant place governed by rather unpleasant people.’”

UNIONS IN PRECARIOUS POSITIONLAT: “The Supreme Court dealt a limited setback to organized labor Monday, ruling that personal home-care employees in Illinois cannot be forced to pay union dues. But to the relief of the nation’s largest unions, the justices refrained from extending the ruling to all public-sector workers, at least for now. In a 5-4 opinion written by Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr., the court said the home healthcare assistants, some of whom care for their own loved ones, had a constitutional right not to support a union they opposed….More ominously for unions, the decision practically invites the National Right to Work Foundation, which brought the case, to bring additional legal challenges that could apply the same legal reasoning to millions of other public workers.”
OBAMACARE REPORT CARDS EXPECTED TODAYThe Department of Health and Human Services will release two inspector general reports today, Sen. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., told Fox News. According to Moran, the first report finds that ObamaCare exchanges lack internal controls to verify applicant’s information and prevent fraudulent activity. The second report dives into the inconsistencies that occurred during the failed enrollment launch. Moran says, “The IG finds that most exchanges were unable to resolve the majority of inconsistencies, most often relating to income and citizenship. In particular, the federal exchange was unable to resolve 2.6 million out of 2.9 million inconsistencies as of February 2014.”

Nanofiber unleashes storage capacity potential of lithium-sulfur batteries - Electronics Eetimes

Researchers at the NIM Cluster at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet (LMU) in Munich, Germany and at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, have synthesized a nanofiber material that could point the way forward to state-of-the-art lithium-sulfur batteries.

The EV industry is placing hopes in lithium-sulfur batteries, which have a high storage capacity. Thanks to the inclusion of sulfur atoms, lithium-sulfur batteries are claimed to be cheaper to make and less toxic than conventional lithium-ion power packs.

However, the lithium-sulfur battery presents several major challenges that need to be resolved until it can be integrated into cars. For example, both the rate and the number of possible charge-discharge cycles need to be increased before the lithium-sulfur battery can become a realistic alternative to lithium-ion batteries.

Blog: Obama is shameless, plain shameless on immigration reform

Blog: Obama is shameless, plain shameless on immigration reform

Then President Obama blamed the GOP for refusing to put immigration to a vote.
And this is where he is just shamelessly shameless, if there is such a state of shamelessness.
President Obama had majorities in the House and 60 votes in the US in 2009-10.   He proposed nothing!
In 2012, he pandered to Hispanic groups by going around Congress on "the dreamers".
All in all, he did nothing when he had the votes and used the issue to pander for reelection.
Now, he faces the reality that the border that he said was more secure than ever is not really.   How can you have a secured border if thousands of kids can walk in without consequence?

Blog: Obama has got to be kidding

Blog: Obama has got to be kidding

He actually said this: the system “is so broken” that “folks don’t know what the rules are."
He was referring to the children’s crusade on our borders that has caused chaos as tens of thousands of people try to illegally enter America - a crisis he has created by lax, or no-enforcement, of our immigration laws and by issuing executive orders that basically re-created the Dream Act - a law that could not pass Congress.
But the statement was just stunning in its disingenuousness and yet another example of the most hypocritical president in American history.
Does anyone know what the rules of Obamacare are on any given day? He has delayed numerous mandates of the law as it was passed; issued waivers for favored groups; decided not to enforce various aspects of ObamaCare. His namesake law is what he decides it to be that particular day (often depending on the polls and the midterms). There have been at least 41 changes to ObamaCare so far and more to come no doubt. The actual law was passed by using acontroversial maneuver never used before in that way (reconciliation)..
But why stop there?
Barack Obama openly boasts he intends to circumvent Congress by use of executive orders, signing statements, recess appointments and the like. These are extraordinary methods that have been abused by this president. And that is why the Supreme Court has increasingly come to reject his tactics and his cavalier approach toward laws (i.e., rules established by our system).
One could go on and on about the systems he has broken on his way to “fundamentally transform America." Our systems of alliances sare damaged. Can friends trust us anymore? Those folks don’t know what the rules are. Allies like Poland and the Czech Republic, England, the Ukraine, Israel - the list of friends who don’t know what the rules are is ever going.
Americans have no idea what Obama’s proxies in the EPA, Department of Justice, and the IRS are going to do to them. The IRS was not supposed to release private tax records - that was a rule - but it was broken by Obama allies. It's the law that the IRS was never supposed to engage in partisan and predatory hunting of conservatives to restrict their First Amendment rights. The filibuster was an age-old custom that was meant to protect minority political parties in the Senate and moderate overreach. But Senate Majority leader, Harry Reid, abolished that rule. The Senate system is clearly broken, too.
So it is certainly true that we can relate to Obama’s complaint that “folks don’t know what the rules are." But we Americans are the ones who should complain that he and his liberal allies are the ones breaking the systems and creating anarchy.
The hypocrisy of Obama is only matched by the gullibility of the people who still support him.

Obama racking up judicial losses - Washington Times

President Obama suffered two final defeats in the Supreme Court on Monday, capping a 2013-2014 term in which the justices delivered several judicial hits to the White House while taking a firm stand against the unchecked power of the state.
The administration’s losses on Obamacare rules and compulsory union dues served as a rebuke on the Supreme Court’s final day after months of judicial decisions to rein in big government on issues such as snooping without a warrant, campaign finance restrictions and Mr. Obama’s recess appointment powers.

Thousands of Illegal Immigrants Bused Across U.S. into Cities

Thousands of Illegal Immigrants Bused Across U.S. into Cities

LAREDO, Texas--A glimpse into the reality of the thousands of illegal immigrants being released into the U.S. by the Obama Administration was captured on video in a Greyhound Bus station in Laredo, Texas this weekend.

The illegal immigrants who cross as incomplete family units simply enter the U.S. illegally, turn themselves in to U.S. Border Patrol agents, are processed, and then are released with a notice to appear at a future date for court proceedings. U.S. taxpayers then fund bus tickets for the illegal immigrants to go to the U.S. city of their choosing. Approximately 95 percent of the illegal immigrants never return as promised for court proceedings, according to Hector Garza, a Border Patrol agent and spokesperson for the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) Local 2455.
"The majority of these people crossed the border illegally and were then dropped off here at the bus station, so they could continue to their final destination, and that destination is an American city near you," said Garza. "This right here is border insecurity at its best. Our border is not patrolled, it's not being secured... our federal government is releasing thousands and thousands of illegal aliens into our communities."

Supply won't meet growing demand for primary care

Supply won't meet growing demand for primary care

Federally funded programs will add at least 2,300 new primary care practitioners by the end of 2015, but the funding for at least one of those programs is set to expire at the same time, contributing to a massive shortage of doctors available to treat patients — including those newly insured through the Affordable Care Act and Medicare.
The U.S. is expected to need 52,000 more primary care physicians by 2025, according to a study by the Robert Graham Center, which does family medicine policy research. But funding for teaching hospitals that could train thousands more of these doctors expires in late 2015.
Population growth will drive most of the need for family care doctors, accounting for 33,000 additional physicians, the study says. The aging population will require about 10,000 more. The Affordable Care Act is expected to increase the number of family doctors needed by more than 8,000, the study says.
Farzan Bharucha, a health care strategist with consulting firm Kurt Salmon, says the ACA should have focused more on the primary care shortage "because we already knew there was a problem -- and we knew implementation of ACA would potentially make it worse."
Health and Human Services spokeswoman Erin Shields Britt says continuing to build the primary care workforce will take time, but she notes President Obama's budget working its way through Congress has several new ways to expand the primary care workforce, which includes nurse practitioners and pediatricians. The ACA, she says, significantly increases the number of primary care providers in underserved areas and increases Medicare and Medicaid payment for services delivered by primary care practitioners.
ACA funding that added 600 new primary care residencies was part of a five-year investment that expires at the end of 2015, eliminating the chance to produce hundreds more doctors each year.
But many agree far more needs to be done. Among the issues:
• Other medical residency funding. More oversight is needed in the distribution of the current $12 billion in federal graduate medical education (GME) funding, which is used for medical residencies, says Bob Phillips with the American Board of Family Medicine. Hospitals can decide the kind of residencies to create and tend to train and hire specialists who bring in more revenue than primary care doctors, he says. HHS says reform is needed, but that it doesn't have authority to make program changes since the GME formula is determined by Congress.
• Rising cost of medical school. For the class of 1992, the median education debt was $50,000. In 2012, it was $170,000, according to a 2012 Association of American Medical Colleges study. Gina Martin, who is finishing her primary care residency and plans to practice in rural Delta, Colo., says she faces $250,000 in medical school debt, which made her choice more difficult.
• More lucrative specialty care. Payment rates for Medicare and Medicaid — the largest payers for primary care by far — tend to reward specialty, interventionist care over prevention, primary care and diagnosis, says health care consultant Kip Piper. Family physicians made an average of $175,000 in 2012, the third lowest of any doctor, according to the MedScape annual physician compensation report.
• Scope of practice laws. States regulate and license doctors and have been slow to embrace the idea that non-physicians could take over some of the functions. Nurse practitioners and physician assistants should be performing vaccinations and strep tests, Bharucha says.
Despite the challenges, Martin says her intention to pursue the field has never wavered. "I grew up in a system and I'm now training in a system that works toward keeping people as healthy as possible," she says.

Healthcare Vendors Identified as the "Unlocked Backdoor to Healthcare Data" - Top News - InsuranceNewsNet.com

"The average hospital's data is accessible by hundreds to thousands of vendors with abysmal security practices providing a wide range of services," said Cliff Baker, CEO, Corl Technologies. "When healthcare and industry organizations don't hold vendors accountable for minimum levels of security, these vendors establish an unlocked backdoor to sensitive healthcare data."
These new findings are critical to addressing the growing number of security incidents at companies attributed to partners and vendors – which increased from 20% in 2010 to 28% in 2012 according to PWC in its "Viewpoint on Vendor Risk Management" (November 2013). Building on this problem, thePWC "US State of Cybercrime Survey" (June 2014) highlights that business partners fly under the security radar: only "44% of organizations have a process for evaluating third parties before launch of business operations" and only "31% include security provisions in contracts with external vendors and suppliers."
