ObamaCare patients with serious pre-existing diseases could face expensive drug costs | Fox News

ObamaCare patients with serious pre-existing diseases could face expensive drug costs | Fox News: People with serious pre-existing diseases, precisely those the president aimed to help with ObamaCare, could find themselves paying for expensive drug treatments with no help from the health care exchanges.

Those with expensive diseases such as lupus or multiple sclerosis face something called a "closed drug formulary."

Dr. Scott Gottlieb of the American Enterprise Institute explains,"if the medicine that you need isn't on that list, it's not covered at all. You have to pay completely out of pocket to get that medicine, and the money you spend doesn't count against your deductible, and it doesn't count against your out of pocket limits, so you're basically on your own."

Tupamaros - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: In June 1968, President Jorge Pacheco, trying to suppress labour unrest, enforced a state of emergency and repealed all constitutional safeguards. The government imprisoned political dissidents, used torture during interrogations and brutally repressed demonstrations.[1] The Tupamaro movement engaged then in political kidnappings, "armed propaganda" and assassinations.

Dancing on Liberalism’s Grave | Jacobin

Dancing on Liberalism’s Grave | Jacobin: For a few years, following the centrist resignation of the Clinton years, and especially after the Iraq invasion, a certain spirit of rebellion seemed to well up from the liberal base as it witnessed its Democratic leaders meekly concede to the Bush administration on one issue after another. This impulse helped give rise to the Obama campaign and the enormous, often inexplicable hopes invested in it – a remarkable episode of mass projection, insightfully recognized as such by the candidate himself [1]. Today, except among the president’s most die-hard acolytes, this hope has all but flickered out. It is clear to all that Obama, and the Democrats generally, have made themselves the instruments of an energized and revanchist ruling class which has seized a moment of economic dislocation and working class disarray to roll back the meager but long-hated social protections of the New Deal and Great Society.

Anti-Maduro protests persist in Venezuela, dozens jailed | Reuters: Demonstrators gathered again in various cities, blocking roads and burning tires in some cases, to denounce the repression of protests and make a litany of complaints against Maduro ranging from rampant crime to shortages of basic products.

"We're going to stay out in the streets for the same reasons as yesterday and the day before: inflation, insecurity and a repressive state that refuses to release our colleagues," student Marcos Matta, 22, told Reuters, in Caracas.

» An End to Fair Elections » Commentary -- GOPUSA: Schumer shows no shame over siccing the IRS on his political rivals. The Obama administration, on the other hand, claims on the pages of the Federal Register that the proposed regulation is needed because of the "lack of a clear and concise" set of rules about what nonprofits can do. That's a lie.

The IRS has used the same rules to grant tax-exempt status since 1959, and applications were processed without confusion until 2010. That, apparently, was when Lois Lerner, director of the tax-exempt division at the IRS, began singling out groups bearing in their names the words "Tea Party" or "Patriot" for scrutiny and harassment. The proposed regulation would codify the abusive tactics she tried to hide by pleading the Fifth before Congress last spring.

A Beautiful ‘Flappy Bird’ Alternative: ‘Badland’ Is Not A Clone, Goes Half Price As 'Flappy Bird' Deleted From App Store: However, if you really want to get your one-tap flap game fix, your best bet lies in a game introduced last April for iOS and in October for Android and BlackBerry called “Badland.” While the basic gameplay mechanics are the same, “Badland” offers a much better experience than “Flappy Bird” or any entry in its army of clones.

In “Badland,” players use a one-finger tap to take a trip through a dark, beautiful dream-world where everything is trying to kill them. As a dark, bright-eyed main character that somewhat resembles a hedgehog, players try to navigate through a swampy forest equipped with all kinds of gears, blades and smashing platforms.

CNNers Rip into Clarence Thomas’ Politically Incorrect Childhood Memories | Mediaite: A panel on CNN’s At This Hour on Tuesday tore into Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ politically incorrect recollection of his youth. Thomas courted controversy on Tuesday when he said that the issue of race “rarely” came up while he was a child in Georgia in the 1960s. However, the justice recalled, it often did in the supposedly liberal Northeast. “The worst I have been treated was by northern liberal elites,” Thomas said. “The absolute worst I have ever been treated.”

The 1948 editorial that could be the GOP response to every Obama State of the Union Address | TheBlaze.com: What Mr. Truman forgets is that the entire wealth and welfare of the country depends upon production.

The total amount of the national product is far more important to the average family than any possible redistribution of it. Yet Mr. Truman’s schemes and taxes would undermine, discourage, and disrupt production. It would destroy incentives. The producers would not be permitted to enjoy the fruits of their production, and others would be handed the fruits whether they produced anything or not.

Articles: Dead Souls In the Republican Leadership: "America cannot become the world and still be America."

So warned the late Harvard political scientist Samuel Huntington in his 2004 article "America's Dead Souls." Huntington's article was prophetic, and it explains why some GOP pols have taken the side of big business and illegal immigrants over the interests of our nation.

"In a variety of ways, the American establishment, governmental and private, has become increasingly divorced from the American people," Huntington wrote.

The Swash | Terror Rising: New threats in the shadow of Al-Qaeda

The Swash | Terror Rising: New threats in the shadow of Al-Qaeda: Since 9/11 and the wars that we are fighting now, Al-Qaeda has pretty much been in the shadows hiding in caves tugging their puny choads, or so the media says. Several attacks have been foiled, even though a few other terror attacks have happened elsewhere. However, there has not been a massive attack on American soil since 9/11. Unfortunately, there will always be some sick scumbag fuckfists that hate freedom and scream that America is the Great Satan or Giant Satan or whatever they call us. I’m not naive enough to think that Al-Qaeda will stay quite or just disappear, I actually think that they are crazy enough.. no, I know that they are crazy enough to try something else in the future. Do I live in fear of them? Fuck no! If shit happens, shit happens. That is just the nature of the beast and the way the world turns.

Fight for and comment on HR 3892: The Student Loan Borrowers' Bill of Rights Act. See StudentLoanJustice.Org for more. | We the People: Your Voice in Our Government: Unlike all other loans in this country, Federal and Private student loans have been uniquely stripped of the most fundamental consumer protections, including bankruptcy protections, statutes of limitations, and others.

At the same time, collection powers, and financial incentives have been created for these loans that make defaulted loans more lucrative for the lenders, guarantors, and even the federal government in many instances!

The result has been a predatory, inflationary lending system which works against the students by design, and in a bad-faith manner. This must end.

Congress and the President created this problem through legislation. Similarly, Congress and the President must correct this problem NOW.

Subsidized Venezuelans: The Paradox of a Dependent Society

Subsidized Venezuelans: The Paradox of a Dependent Society: Those officials who enter into politics and follow their heart over their reason take office promising to overcome poverty with more subsidies and state aid. Be they avowed socialists or not, this has been the populist approach that most politicians in Venezuela have adopted over the years.

The needs of the lower classes are, without doubt, a problem that compels attention. However, why is it that to give away free goods and services, or to heavily subsidize them, harms the entire society so much?

Subsidies for food, housing, education, health care, and other services conceal their true cost from the citizen, and therefore, their true value. In theory, such subsidies work as a safety net to protect the individuals from any economic crisis that might hit their pockets. In other words, amid all the tribulations that Venezuelans live through, at least one knows the price of gasoline* will not rise as all other daily expenses seem to.

Venezuela: El Libertario will continue to resist the hegemony of communication of the Venezuelan state - Infoshop News: Due to the dollarization of the Venezuelan economy, the control of the rate of exchange by the Nicolas Maduro’ government and the importation of 100% of the resources for the graphic arts industry, since the end of 2013 the country´s printing presses - including the one we have worked with for the past 6 years- are suffering the lack of prime materials, particularly paper.
