Americans for Tax Reform : 47 Reasons the IRS Is Unprepared to Enforce Obamacare: The GAO reports that the IRS has 47 different taxes and regulations it must enforce under Obamacare. They're not ready.

“It is unprecedented in recent history, the amount of responsibility the IRS is being given in an area that most people don’t think of as an IRS function...[t]his is going to lead to problems, sir...“[t]hey have to determine what enforcement mechanisms they’ll employ … how they go about determining who to audit and who not to.”

Newly created jobs defy the sequester threat - NYPOST.com: In fact, both he and Bernanke said 750,000 jobs would be lost because of those $85 billion in cuts.

Then, (surprise!) one week later the Labor Dept. announces that the economy actually created a decent number of jobs.

Yesterday’s 236,000 increase is a blow to the area below Obama’s gut. It’s hard to fully rev up fear in people about the job market when they’ve just heard that things may be getting better.

Americans, after all, remember only the last message that they’ve heard.

Federal workers owe $3.5 billion in back taxes - DC Breaking Local News Weather Sports FOX 5 WTTG

WASHINGTON (AP) - The number of federal workers and retirees who owed delinquent income taxes jumped by nearly 12 percent in 2011, the Internal Revenue Service said Friday.
Nearly 312,000 federal workers and retirees owed more than $3.5 billion in back taxes as of Sept. 30, 2011, the agency said. The year before, about 279,000 workers and retirees owed $3.4 billion.
Overall, the 9.8 million workers included in the data had a delinquency rate of 3.2 percent. That's better than the general public. The IRS says the delinquency rate for the general public was 8.2 percent.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development had the highest delinquency rate, at 4.4 percent. The Treasury Department, which includes the IRS, had the lowest, at 1.1 percent.
Among independent agencies with more than 1,000 workers, the Government Printing Office had the highest delinquency rate, at 7.6 percent. The National Credit Union Administration had the lowest, at 1 percent.
House employees had a higher delinquency rate than workers for the Senate, but not by much. House workers had a delinquency rate of 3.7 percent, while Senate workers had a delinquency rate of 3.3 percent. Federal court employees had a delinquency rate of 2.7 percent.
The IRS says most residents who owe back income taxes file returns but cannot pay the full amount at tax time. Others have their tax bills increased through audits and cannot pay the higher bill.
The statistics on federal employees do not include those who are on payment plans. The IRS doesn't publicize the data but makes it available upon request.
The new data comes as many federal workers are facing unpaid furloughs because of automatic spending cuts known as the sequester. Many federal workers have already received furlough notices; others will receive them in the coming months.

Conservative Actor: Teacher Threatened Police Action & Questioned My Son’s ‘Mental State’ Over Photo of a BB Gun at School | TheBlaze.com

Conservative Actor: Teacher Threatened Police Action & Questioned My Son’s ‘Mental State’ Over Photo of a BB Gun at School | TheBlaze.com: Actor, entrepreneur, and writer Joseph C. Phillips, best known for his roles as Martin Kendall on “The Cosby Show” and Justus Ward on “General Hospital,” says his son’s school threatened police action after the student showed his friends a picture of his new BB gun. They also reportedly questioned his “mental state.”

Phillips explained for radio host Tony Katz on Saturday that California social studies teacher James DeLarme was walking by when he saw Phillips’ son and his friends looking at the picture. The 15-year-old has been working part time and chose to buy the Airsoft BB gun with his earnings, his dad said, and wanted to show his new purchase to his friends.

The teacher “snatched” the camera out of his hands, and when the teen asked when he would get it back, the teacher reportedly responded: “That’s for the police to decide.”

Challenge for Keynesian Anti-Sequester Hysterics, Part II: Why Did America’s Economy Boom When Reagan and Clinton Cut Spending? | Cato @ Liberty

Triggered by an appearance on Canadian TV, I asked yesterday why we should believe anti-sequester Keynesians. They want us to think that a very modest reduction in the growth of government spending will hurt the economy, yet Canada enjoyed rapid growth in the mid-1990s during a period of substantial budget restraint. I make a similar point in this debate with Robert Reich, noting that  the burden of government spending was reduced as a share of economic output during the relatively prosperous Reagan years and Clinton years:

Media's ObamaCurve: Today's Job Creation Pathetic Compared to Reagan Miracle

Media's ObamaCurve: Today's Job Creation Pathetic Compared to Reagan Miracle

The great trick Obama's media is playing right now is the manufacturing of a New Economic Normal that makes it possible to pretend Obama's failed economic policies are not. This is done through reporting that purposely excludes any kind of historical context. What the media and White House count on is that we've either forgotten what a real economic recovery looks like, or that we're too young to remember the Reagan Miracle.

In January of 1981, President Ronald Reagan inherited an economy every bit as awful as the one President Obama inherited in January of 2009. Before the Reagan Recovery hit, unemployment would peak at 10.8% in December of 1982 (Obama's high was only 10% in October of 2009). Unlike Obama, though, Reagan also had to deal with crippling inflation and interest rates.
Obama certainly inherited some unique problems of his own. But there's no question that it's fair to compare  how both presidents handled their respective economic crises, and the results of the individual policies they  instituted to get a desperate country out from under.
Reagan's approach was to get government off the backs of the people. He slashed tax rates, cut regulations, and freed Americans to innovate. His wisest decision, though, was to increase the incentive to invest.
Obama did the exact opposite. He intentionally exploded the size of government, passed legislation with crippling regulations (Dodd-Frank, ObamaCare), and rather than freeing the American people to invest and incentivizing risk,  Obama took money out of the private economy through tax increases and decided the government knew better with a "stimulus" of nearly a trillion dollars.
Today, if you look around the media, they're pretending 236,000 new jobs created last month represents some kind of miracle, when the truth is that the number is at best mediocre. But the media's manufactured the ObamaCurve in order to give a failed president a passing grade. It's only through the cynical removal of historical context that the media is able to celebrate economic failure.
At this same time in Reagan's presidency (March of 1985), Reaganomics had decreased the unemployment rate from a high of 10.8% to 7.2%.
From a high of only 10%, Obamanomics has decreased unemployment to a still-high 7.7%.
The comparisons are just as startling when it comes to job creation.
In the last year, Obamanomics has created 1.97 million jobs, or a measly 164k per month.
During this same time in the Reagan presidency (March of 1984 to February of 1985), Reaganomics created 3.34 million jobs, an average of 278k per month.
The comparison between 1983 and 2011 is truly eye opening. Reaganomics created 3.45 million jobs, compared to Obamanomics' 2.1 million.
We are currently living through a kind of Orwellian moment where the media's turning failure and mediocrity into success through the deliberate memory-holing of history.
Fact: Had Obama swallowed his left-wing pride, looked to the recent past, and used the Reagan Miracle as a blueprint, our economy would be in much better shape today. But the media's so dishonest and so committed to putting Obama on Mt. Rushmore that millions upon millions of American are needlessly suffering.
The media's ObamaCurve is nothing more than a hoax, a scam, a racket, a con, and The Big Lie. What could've been Morning In America is shaping up to be The Lost Decade.
And media's lie of omission is that … it didn’t have to be this way.
NOTE: The numbers of above on the unemployment rate and job creation come from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
UPDATE: Some changes were made after a triple-check of the math.

Quantum suicide and immortality - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quantum suicide and immortality - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: In quantum mechanics, quantum suicide is a thought experiment. It was originally published independently by Hans Moravec in 1987[1][2] and Bruno Marchal in 1988[3][4] and was independently developed further by Max Tegmark in 1998.[5] It attempts to distinguish between the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics and the Everett many-worlds interpretation by means of a variation of the Schrödinger's cat thought experiment, from the cat's point of view. Quantum immortality refers to the subjective experience of surviving quantum suicide regardless of the odds.[6]

Keith Lynch recalls that Hugh Everett took great delight in paradoxes such as the unexpected hanging. Everett didn't mention quantum suicide or quantum immortality in writing, but his work was intended as a solution to the paradoxes of quantum mechanics. Lynch said "Everett firmly believed that his many-worlds theory guaranteed him immortality: His consciousness, he argued, is bound at each branching to follow whatever path does not lead to death",[7] Tegmark explains, however, that life and death situations don't normally hinge upon a sequence of binary quantum events like those in the thought experiment.[6]

Molotov Solution - Psych-War Lyrics

As cathode ray tubes induce alpha brainwave hypnotic states in
populations mesmerized by five hours of television every day,
Suggestions flow into the subconscious without
viewer participation,
and fewer and fewer corporations control this
weapon of mass disinformation.

With rapid technological advancement it would only be a matter of
time before there would be a war on for you mind.

Billions of dollars spent in fake news,
Stations no longer required to air opposing views,
While secret programs seek to advance existing mind control technologies,
All the while maintaining the illusion of democracy.

What good is freedom of speech when they control what you think?

From MK-ULTRA to Project Sheriff, LSD to LRAD,
Electroshock brainwashing to riot control energy beams.
It all sounds like a fucking sci-fi movie.

Attacking the very essence of what it means to be human,
Without 'free thought' democracy can be
nothing but an illusion

American Left omits Chavez's dictatorial regime

The American Left leaves out important facts about Chavez's dictatorial regime - Manchester Political Buzz | Examiner.com

Hugo Chavez, dictator of Venezuela, died yesterday at age 58 of cancer.

Many leftists in America are mourning the death of Chavez, claiming he was a "champion of the poor". They are saddened by the death of a man who oppressed his country and drove out political dissidents
and in some cases, murdered them. While Chavez did indeed empower the
poor to vote and have a "voice" in politics, he did so through class
warfare tactics that have divided the country more than it was before
his rise to power (sound familiar?).

Along with the sub-standard "free" healthcare and schooling Chavez
provided, came the propaganda pushed in order to keep the poor enamored
with Chavez as their leader. Some facts that Leftists and Democrats who are mourning the loss of the dictator neglect to mention:

[Venezuela] It has one of the world’s largest fiscal
deficits, highest inflation rates, worst misalignment of the exchange
rate, fastest-growing debt, and one of the most precipitous drops in
productive capacity—including that of the critical oil sector.
Why does the American Left leave out these chilling facts of
oppression regarding Chavez? Because to them, the end justifies the
means. They don't care that the entire country actually suffers as long
as they see "social justice" as part of the resolution. The class
warfare that spews from Democrats' mouths is exactly the same type of
class warfare that Chavez preached throughout his reign of terror.

Hugo Chavez had the opportunity to create an environment in Venezuela
that would have seen all classes succeed. Instead he chose to
practically destroy the country with his leftist ideology that has
proven to be a failure in every country in which it has been tried in
the past.

The American Left doesn't see the value of history or even of
Chavez's epic failures that are in the present. They will continue to
repeat failed history over and over again believing that the outcome
will somehow be different if they just try it yet again. That can be
seen in Obama's failed economic policies.

Democrats hail Obama as being brilliant, even while the majority of
Americans are still suffering under high unemployment, high gas and food
prices and higher healthcare costs; not to mention the massive debt
that keeps increasing. To the left, class warfare; taking from the
"rich" and oppressing political speech of those who disagree is just
part of the solution to their made up "social justice" causes. They
must leave out the important facts about Chavez's dictatorial regime
because most Americans, if told this was how they would end up living,
would reject this in a heartbeat.

The Pirate Bay - The galaxy's most resilient bittorrent site

The Pirate Bay has been hunted in many countries around the world. Not for illegal activities but being persecuted for beliefs of freedom of information. Today, a new chapter is written in the history of the movement, as well as the history of the internets.
A week ago we could reveal that The Pirate Bay was accessed via Norway and Catalonya. The move was to ensure that these countries and regions will get attention to the issues at hand. Today we can reveal that we have been invited by the leader of the republic of Korea, to fight our battles from their network.
This is truly an ironic situation. We have been fighting for a free world, and our opponents are mostly huge corporations from the United States of America, a place where freedom and freedom of speech is said to be held high. At the same time, companies from that country is chasing a competitor from other countries, bribing police and lawmakers, threatening political parties and physically hunting people from our crew. And to our help comes a government famous in our part of the world for locking people up for their thoughts and forbidding access to information.
We believe that being offered our virtual asylum in Korea is a first step of this country's changing view of access to information. It's a country opening up and one thing is sure, they do not care about threats like others do. In that way, TPB and Korea might have a special bond. We will do our best to influence the Korean leaders to also let their own population use our service, and to make sure that we can help improve the situation in any way we can. When someone is reaching out to make things better, it's also ones duty to grab their hand.
