We are cut off here, imprisoned in a corner of the city, in a work camp, with no means of contacting the outside world. My only hope is that these pages will reach you after the war, God willing, through whomever it may be. May these pages reach your hands in order to inform you of what has happened to our family: their fate and their tragic end. Your parents were my parents and on the whole your entire family has always been dear to me.
