Noon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Noon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Demons of noon

Persons breaking the taboo of working at noon were subject to chastisement by demons of noon. They are present in many mythologies, from Islamic and Jewish, where they were represented by dust devils, to Slavic mythology, where all sorts of poludnicas, wilas, and topielecs haunted the offending folk at noon. They universally caused hyperthermia resulting in aches, maddness or drowning.[3]

Arthurian Infopedia - Gelliwig (Gelli Wic)

Arthurian Infopedia - Gelliwig (Gelli Wic): Of Gelli Wic or Gelliwig (modern site attributed to Kelliwick), in Cornwall, frequent mention is made in the Triads, where it is named as one of the three national thrones of the Island of Britain, and one of King Arthur's chief seats of empire, in which he was used to celebrate the high festivals of Christmas, Easter, and Whitsuntide. At the time of Arthur's sovereignty, when he was Supreme Ruler (Penrhaith as it is called in Welsh), Bedwin was the chief Bishop, and Caradawc Vreichvras was the chief Elder, of Gelliwig. It was one of the three Archbishoprics of Britain.

"So the optics of jubilant politicians is terrible politics: triumphalism at the trashing of a pledge."

"It suggests to voters that the government does not care what they think. It solidifies a perception of politicians being out of touch - isolated from the daily concerns of voters."

The EPA just revealed revisions to the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule (CSAPR) that they say will give more flexibility to states for implementation of the rule. I applaud the EPA for finally admitting its errors in calculations and flawed methodology, but I am not sure about the motives behind this move. The EPA’s admission that they have to go back and make “technical corrections” to CSAPR highlights that the original rule was based on flawed math.

The man indicated he is a socialist democrat. They guy at the end of the video is clueless, and easily ignored, he indicated China is run by corporations and government is at the bottom? SAY WHAT!?! Anyways the first guy throughout the interview is so typical from a self professing Jesus Follower. COME on dude, JESUS did not force people to love him, he did not force people to help the poor, he did not advocate any of that, he said help the poor and the desolate, meaning the individual. WHat does it benefit a man to take his money unwillingly and give it to your good cause? Nothing. The VERSION, this guy made me laugh when he said you have a different version, come on dude this is part of the nuts and bolts of christianity, the lord loves a cheerful giver. I have never met an individual who was cheerful about giving money to the government for them to spend on whatever the deem important. GET A CLUE LIBS!

Crow (poetry) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Crow (poetry) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Crow: From the Life and Songs of the Crow is a literary work by Ted Hughes and one of Hughes' most important works.

It is a collection of poems based around the character Crow, which borrow extensively from many world mythologies, notably Christian mythology. The first Crow poems were written in response to a request by the American artist Leonard Baskin, who had at the time produced several pen and ink drawings of crows.

It is quoted briefly in the liner notes of Paul Simon's song My Little Town, and the collection was also the key inspiration for the 2009 album The Unkindness of Crows by the American heavy metal band Eagle Twin.

The dog will probably not be resistant as the treatment is painless. This has worked well for me."

"All mirrors lead to my palace
My exotic pleasure temple
Wherein my court is both gracious and insatiable
Pure and obscene
For where pumps the true heart of life
There too seeps corruption
And from this my new Eden of nightshades, black
henbane, sphinxes,
opium and roses weaned on tears and blood
Will rise up like lust
And the shadow of my dark consort shalt extend
Himself across the face of the world...

...And Hell will come with Him"

The Jobs Bill Showdown & Fuzzy Math on Teacher Jobs

The Jobs Bill Showdown & Fuzzy Math on Teacher Jobs: Among the many new spending initiatives in President Obama's jobs bill is the flagged 30 billion dollars meant to hire teachers, preserve current jobs, and improve school buildings across the country. While the Senate is expected to debate the controversial legislation this week, the White House is warning that without this federal funding, nearly 280,000 education jobs will be lost this year alone. With rhetoric reaching a boiling point in Washington, the Associated Press is now reporting that President Obama's estimates may be far off the apocalyptic estimates.

» EPA to Place $100 Billion Regulations on Farms for Natural Chemical with No Observable Effect on Human Health - Big Government: In 2005, the National Research Council of the National Academy of Sciences conducted an extensive peer-reviewed examination of the scientific literature associated with perchlorate. Among their conclusions was that there was no observable effect on the human body from the perchlorate levels commonly found in the environment–not that there was no adverse effect, but that there was no observable effect at all. It should go without mentioning that without an observable effect, there can be no adverse effect–the starting point of most regulatory actions.

James Cook - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

"The esteem in which he was nevertheless held by the Hawaiians resulted in his body being retained by their chiefs and elders. Following the practice of the time, Cook's body underwent funerary rituals similar to those reserved for the chiefs and highest elders of the society. The body was disemboweled, baked to facilitate removal of the flesh, and the bones were carefully cleaned for preservation as religious icons in a fashion somewhat reminiscent of the treatment of European saints in the Middle Ages. Some of Cook's remains, disclosing some corroborating evidence to this effect, were eventually returned to the British for a formal burial at sea following an appeal by the crew."

Social conservatism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: The accepted goals and ideologies related to preserving traditions and/or morality often differs from group to group within social conservatism. The general ideas and philosophies social conservatives support are the nuclear family model as society's foundational unit, public morality and what they call traditional family values, and they oppose secularism and militant atheism.
